I use both. Indoors for still life I use the LCD. For people photos and all outdoor stuff I use the viewfinder. One of my criteria was to have a vewfinder in fact, many compacts do not. FWIW, the LCD is very accurate as far as WYSIWYG--more so than the viewfinder, which as you noted is not. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I rarely use the LCD and prefer the viewfinder. Holding the camera up to my face just seems more stable and natural. The problem with the Canon G9 viewfinder is the field of view in the viewfinder is not always the actual image view. I kinda stopped worrying about this since the field in the viewfinder is somewhat larger than the actual image and digital images are easy to crop. |
