CHEYENNE -- Anyone interested in hunting turkeys this fall, including the Black Hills, needs to submit an application to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Cheyenne office by 5 p.m. Aug. 16.
In the spring, hunters have been able to purchase a license over-the-counter for the Black Hills. This fall the quota in the Black Hills (area 1) is 750, up 250 licenses from last year. Quotas were also increased in the Buffalo/Sheridan area and Campbell County.

Officially the fall turkey application period is July 1-- Aug. 15. Since the closing date falls on a weekend, the regulation allows the G&F to accept applications through the next business day.
