For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think you are pretty much on the mark with the apex of outdoor writing being when Irwin Bauer was at his peak. Today the main markets seem to be very short pieces on the internet. The profit margin is in volume not the big pieces that were the basis of outdoor writing in the 50's and 60's. Singler big pieces just do not sell in this market. Buyers want short pieces to fit around ads on websites. Just my opinion. |
