HUMPHREY - If you are a boy or girl age 12 through 15 and have a hankering to go duck hunting, there are some people wanting to take you. Youth Waterfowl Hunting Day in Arkansas this year is Tuesday, Dec. 21. Steve R. Wilson, public affairs coordinator with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, said, "Each year we have numerous guides and duck clubs interested in taking some kids hunting on that day, but they don’t know how and where to find the. And we have numerous kids who want to go hunting but don’t know where to go and who can take them." Wilson said the Arkansas Guide Association is acting as the "connecting agent" for these two groups, the hunters and the youngsters. Youths who want to hunt waterfowl on Dec. 21 with a responsible adult can pick up an application form from any Game and Fish Commission office or from the AGFC Website, fill it out and mail it to the Arkansas Guide Association, P.O. Box 33, Humphrey, AR 72073. Names, addresses and phones of the young people will be given participating hunters, who will contact the kids and make arrangements for a hunt. There is no fee for any of the Youth Waterfowl Hunting Day activities, and some hunters, guides and clubs are offering free lodging and meals to young hunters who participate.
