CHEYENNE -- Black bear hunters take note: Hunt areas 14-17 and 30, which includes the Salt and Wyoming ranges, closed Sept. 20 for the rest of the fall season.
The closed areas stretch from Big Piney to the Idaho state line and from Hoback Junction to LaBarge. The areas closed because the harvest quota of three sows, or female bears, was reached.
Black bear hunters can check the status of their hunt areas by calling (800) 264-1280.
